Vermont State Requirements
Professional Engineers
The state requirements for Vermont Professional Engineers are provided below:
Renewal Period:
Biennial by July 31 of even years
Course Pre-approval:
The State Board does not pre-approve continuing education courses. You must select a course activity that meets your State Board criteria.
Sponsor Pre-approval:
The State Board does not pre-approve continuing education sponsors/providers.
Course Applicability:
The course must have a clear purpose and objective which will maintain, improve or expand the skills and knowledge of the licensee relevant to the practice of engineering and necessary to safeguard the health, safety, property and welfare of the public.
Online PDH's:
There are no limitations on the number of PDHs earned online.
PDH Deferral:
PDHs earned one year before the renewal date may be carried over into the next renewal period, if they have not been accounted for in the previous renewal period.
Professional Land Surveyors
The state requirements for Vermont Professional Land Surveyors are provided below:
Renewal Period:
Biennial based on the licensee's original date of licensure
Course Pre-approval:
The State Board does pre-approve courses although you can take the course prior to Board approval. However, if you select a pre-approved course, then you are assured that the course will be accepted by the State Board.
CED is currently seeking course approval with the Vermont Licensing Board.

The State Board does not pre-approve continuing education sponsors/providers.

The course must have a clear purpose and objective which will maintain, improve or expand the skills and knowledge of the licensee relevant to the practice of land surveying and necessary to safeguard the health, safety, property and welfare of the public.

No PDHs may be carried over into the next renewal period.
