Nevada State Requirements
Professional Engineers
The state requirements for Nevada Professional Engineers are provided below:
Biennial based on the first letter of the licensee's last name:
- A thru E – January 1 of odd years
- F thru K – July 1 of odd years
- L thru R – January 1 of even years
- S thru Z – July 1 of even years
The State Board does not pre-approve continuing education courses. You must select a course activity that meets your State Board criteria.
The course must have a clear purpose and objective which will maintain, improve or expand the skills and knowledge of the licensee relevant to the practice of engineering and necessary to safeguard the health, safety, property and welfare of the public.
Of the 30 PDHs required:
- A minimum of 2 PDHs must be earned in engineering ethics/professional conduct; and
- A minimum of 1 PDH must be earned in the NV engineering statues and regulations, NAC Chapter 625 and NRS Chapter 625.
There are no limitations on the number of PDH's earned online.
A maximum of 15 PDHs may be carried over into the next renewal period. However:
- Excess PDHs earned in land surveying ethics may not be carried forward; and
- Excess PDHs earned in the NV engineering statues and regulations, NAC Chapter 625 and NRS Chapter 625 may not be carried forward.
Professional Land Surveyors
The state requirements for Nevada Professional Land Surveyors are provided below:
