Kentucky State Requirements
Professional Engineers
The state requirements for Kentucky Professional Engineers are provided below:
Biennial by June 30 as follows:
- Odd years for engineers whose last names begin with one of the letters A through K
- Even years for engineers whose last names begin with one of the letters L through Z
The reporting period is the two calendar years (Jan. 1 - Dec. 31) prior to the June 30 license renewal.
The course must have a clear purpose and objective which will maintain, improve or expand the skills and knowledge of the licensee relevant to the practice of engineering and necessary to safeguard the health, safety, property and welfare of the public.
There are no limitations on the number of PDHs earned online.
Professional Land Surveyors
The state requirements for Kentucky Professional Land Surveyors are provided below:
Biennial by June 30 as follows:
- Odd years for engineers whose last names begin with one of the letters A through K
- Even years for engineers whose last names begin with one of the letters L through Z
The reporting period is the two calendar years (Jan. 1 - Dec. 31) prior to the June 30 license renewal.
CED is currently planning on seeking course approval with the Kentucky Licensing Board.
The course must have a clear purpose and objective which will maintain, improve or expand the skills and knowledge of the licensee relevant to the practice of land surveying and necessary to safeguard the health, safety, property and welfare of the public.
Of the 16 PDHs required, 4 PDHs must:
- Relate to the Standards of Practice, Ethics, and the Code of Conduct;
- Be taken once every four (4) years; and
- Count towards the 16-PDH requirement in the reporting period that is taken.
