Iowa State Requirements

PDH's Required:

30 Units

Renewal Period:

Biennial by December 31 depending on the original date of licensure

Course Pre-approval:

The State Board does not pre-approve courses. You must select a course activity that meets your State Board criteria.

Sponsor Pre-approval:

The State Board does not pre-approve continuing education sponsors.

Course Applicability:

Two of the 30 PDH's must be in professional ethics. In addition, the course must be relevant to the profession of engineering and may include technical, humanities and managerial content.

Online PDH's:

Up to 10 PDH's may be obtained each renewal period through online courses. As such, CED's Live Webinars will satisfy the requirement of obtaining the remaining PDH's through live interaction type instruction.

PDH Deferral:

Up to 15 PDH may be carried over into the next renewal period.
