Georgia State Requirements
Professional Engineers
The state requirements for Georgia Professional Engineers are provided below:
Course Pre-approval:
The State Board does not pre-approve continuing education courses. You must select a course activity that meets your State Board criteria.
Sponsor Pre-approval:
The State Board does not pre-approve continuing education sponsors/providers.
Course Applicability:
The course must have a clear purpose and objective which will maintain, improve or expand the skills and knowledge of the licensee relevant to the practice of engineering and necessary to safeguard the health, safety, property and welfare of the public.
Online PDH's:
There are no limitations on the number of PDHs earned online.
PDH Deferral:
A maximum of 7.5 PDHs may be carried over into the next renewal period.
Professional Land Surveyors
The state requirements for Georgia Professional Land Surveyors are provided below:
Course Pre-approval:
The State Board does not pre-approve continuing education courses. You must select a course activity that meets your State Board criteria.
Sponsor Pre-approval:
The State Board does not pre-approve continuing education sponsors/providers.
Course Applicability:
The course must have a clear purpose and objective which will maintain, improve or expand the skills and knowledge of the licensee relevant to the practice of land surveying and necessary to safeguard the health, safety, property and welfare of the public.
In addition, once every two consecutive renewal periods:
- A minimum of 3 PDHs must be earned in the GA Minimum Technical Standards which shall include a review of all board rules and applicable state laws pertaining to the practice of land surveying specific to the state of Georgia.
Online PDH's:
There are no limitations on the number of PDHs earned online.
PDH Deferral:
A maximum of 3.75 PDHs may be carried over into the next renewal period.
