Professional Engineers


The state requirements for Alaska Professional Engineers are provided below:

PDH's Required:
24
Renewal Period:
Biennial by December 31 of odd years
Course Pre-approval:
The State Board does not pre-approve continuing education courses. You must select a course activity that meets your State Board criteria.
Sponsor Pre-approval:
The State Board does not pre-approve continuing education sponsors/providers.
Course Applicability:

The course must have a clear purpose and objective which will maintain, improve or expand the skills and knowledge of the licensee relevant to the practice of engineering and necessary to safeguard the health, safety, property and welfare of the public.


Of the 24 PDHs required:

  • A maximum of 8 PDHs may be earned in professional ethics or business-related activities.
Online PDH's:
There are no limitations on the number of PDHs earned online. However, amaximum of 12 PDHs may be earned in a single calendar day.
PDH Deferral:
No PDH may be carried over into the next renewal period.
