Three-Phase Power Systems
This online engineering PDH course will establish, through slides and discussions, the basic principles of three phase systems, including the basis of three phase waveforms and terminology, phase sequencing, elements of wye and delta system, including conversions of power voltage and current from one system to the other and introduction to power transformers .
The three phase system course presents the necessary for an engineer to understand how a three phase system functions in a steady state condition. It will help also an electrical engineer either to review basic concepts of power systems or a non-electrical engineer to become more familiar with the concepts used in power systems.
The 4 PDH online course is intended for electrical, chemical, and mechanical engineers, as well as project managers in industry, who are interested either in learning more about electrical power systems or wish to refresh basic electrical power concepts.
This PE continuing education course is intended to provide you with the following specific knowledge and skills:
- Identifying sinusoidal waves present in steady state electrical systems.
- Understanding the basics of power connections such as wye and delta and their mathematical relations, using voltage, current and power relationships.
- Learning about the basis of methods used to measure power.
- Familiarizing with basic power transformer concepts.
In this professional engineering CEU course, you need to review the course document titled, “Three-Phase Power Systems" by Manuel Gooding.
Once you complete your course review, you need to take a multiple-choice quiz consisting of twenty five (25) questions to earn 4 PDH credits. The quiz will be based on the entire document.
Upon successful completion of the quiz, print your Certificate of Completion instantly. (Note: if you are paying by check or money order, you will be able to print it after we receive your payment.) For your convenience, we will also email it to you. Please note that you can log in to your account at any time to access and print your Certificate of Completion.
