This online engineering PDH course explains the famous Apollo 1 mission details, goals, accident as well as the NASA timeline of the major events that occurred on Apollo 1.

 

The Apollo Project was a huge engineering challenge. The Apollo 1 accident on January 27, 1967, killed three astronauts. This fatal accident led to changes that got the Apollo Program back on track. The main goal of the Apollo Project was to take a man to the moon and bring him back to Earth safely. The project also aimed at achieving preeminence for the United States in space exploration and more specifically Moon exploration.
