Course Highlights

This online engineering PDH course provides an introduction to the fundamental steps needed to prepare and execute an effective and efficient plant turnaround or outage.  This course takes the student through the issues that are important to performing a turnaround that is safe, environmentally sound, on budget, on schedule and which performs the needed scope of work.

 

This course illustrates the steps involved in preparing for a turnaround or outage.  It begins by identifying the objectives. It continues with identification of key turnaround premises.  Finally, it describes the sequential steps involved with turnaround preparation.

 

This 3 PDH online course is applicable to engineers who are not currently experts in managing plant turnarounds or outages. It provides a high level overview for those who are recent engineering graduates as well as engineers whose duties have been expanded to include the management of turnaround or outage programs.

Learning Objectives

This PE continuing education course is intended to provide you with the following specific knowledge and skills:

  • Understanding why turnarounds or outages are completed
  • Learning how to identify the required TA scope
  • Learning how to screen work that should or should not be part of the TA scope
  • Identifying TA Management Team membership and TA Execution Team membership
  • Understanding the activities needed to optimize the TA schedule and reduce the TA duration.
