COURSE PROVIDER: Elie Tawil, P.E., LEED AP
Introduction to Refrigeration Systems
Course Highlights

This online engineering course provides necessary information to understand the principles and theory of refrigeration, the components of mechanical refrigeration systems, and the types of refrigerants and associated equipment. This course also discusses the methods used for installing, maintaining, and repairing refrigeration equipment, including domestic refrigerators and freezers.

Refrigeration is the process of removing heat from an area or a substance. It is usually done by an artificial means of lowering the temperature, such as by the use of ice or mechanical refrigeration, which is a mechanical system or apparatus, designed and constructed to transfer heat from one substance to another.

This 8 PDH online course is intended for HVACR, mechanical and industrial engineers, manufacturers, maintenance staff, and others seeking a basic understanding of refrigeration systems.
Learning Objectives

This PE continuing education course is intended to provide you with the following specific knowledge and skills:

  • Understanding the physics behind heat and refrigeration
  • Learning about the refrigeration cycle and its different mechanical components
  • Familiarizing with the different types of refrigerants
  • Understanding the safety precautions associated with refrigerants
  • Familiarizing with the different types of refrigerant equipment
  • Understanding the installation procedures for refrigerant equipment
  • Learning about the maintenance, service, and repair procedures associated with refrigerant equipment
Course Document
In this professional engineering CEU course, you need to review “Introduction to Refrigeration Systems” which is based on chapter 12 of the Naval Education and Training Materials (NAVEDTRA 14265A), Utilitiesman Basic.

COURSE TITLE: Steam Distribution Systems
COURSE NO: D02-008
COURSE PROVIDER: Elie Tawil, P.E., LEED AP
Steam Distribution Systems
Course Highlights

This online engineering PDH course provides a basic description of the steam distribution systems along with an overview of the main associated components.

A steam boiler is virtually useless for heating without a good distribution system that transports the steam to the areas that require heating. In this course, the term distribution system refers to the network of piping required to distribute steam from a boiler room (or boiler plant) through the steam pipes to the equipment using the steam. The course discusses both exterior and interior systems, including their maintenance requirements and various associated components.

This 2 PDH online course is applicable to industrial and mechanical engineers as well as technical personnel interested in gaining a better understanding of steam distribution systems.
Learning Objectives

This PE continuing education course is intended to provide you with the following specific knowledge and skills:

  • Understanding the different types of exterior steam distribution systems
  • Familiarizing with the different types of interior steam distribution systems
  • Learning the basic components of steam distribution systems as well as their operation and maintenance considerations
Course Document
In this professional engineering CEU course, you need to review "Steam Distribution Systems", which is based on Chapter 10 of the of the Naval Education and Training Materials (NAVEDTRA 14265A), Utilitiesman Basic.
