SCADA Systems Intermediate Overview
This online engineering PDH course provides an intermediate overview of Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) Systems. SCADA systems are used in manufacturing facilities, oil refineries, water/wastewater treatment facilities, as wells as on gas pipeline and more. Wherever operators need to monitor large amounts of data on equipment spread over large areas, a SCADA system will be in use.
This 4 PDH online course is applicable to engineers interested in gaining knowledge of SCADA system architecture and communication technology used in SCADA systems. The engineer is expected to have a basic knowledge of SCADA components and terminology.
This PE continuing education course is intended to provide you with the following specific knowledge and skills:
- Familiarizing with SCADA history and how technology changes impacted SCADA.
- Understanding the basic architecture of SCADA systems and their core components
- Learning about the basic communication equipment and its deployment for use by SCADA systems
- In-depth understanding of the two major communication protocols used with SCADA systems
In this professional engineering CEU course you will need to review Chapter 2 through 5 of the National Communication System (NCS) Technical Bulletin 04-1, "Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) Systems".
