  • We will pay all expenses related to publishing, promoting and marketing your course. You are not responsible for any costs.
  • We will track and submit your completed course hours to the states requiring PDH reporting.

If you wish to become a CEDengineering.com course provider, you can either select a course topic of your own or we can assist you in the selection process depending on your background and experience. Simply contact us for any guidance in this matter.

The course must fit the needs of the professionals who need to renew their professional licenses as well as meet the state board requirements as follows:

“Any qualifying course or activity with a clear purpose and objective which will maintain, improve, or expand the skills and knowledge relevant to the licensee’s field of practice.”

The primary objective of the course being taught is to convey the skills and knowledge necessary for the engineer’s professional practice.

To get wide exposure for your course, ensure that your topic is broad in nature so it can relate to various engineering disciplines. On the other hand, more focused courses will attract a smaller audience.

Once you decide on the course topic, send the following information to info@cedengineering.com:

  • Brief biography and updated resume (biography will be posted on our website under course providers)

  • Brief description of the course and estimated number of unit hours (required to review the course and take the quiz)

We will review and discuss this information with you within 48 hours. Once approved, we will advise you to proceed with course preparation.

As a course provider, you need to develop and send the following course material in the form of HTML, PDF or Word to info@cedengineering.com:

Course Outline

Course Content

Course Quiz

Course Outline

  • Provide a course description that briefly describes the material covered by the course. Here is where the student will get his first glance and an overall idea about the course. Therefore, ensure that the course description is concise with a composition that will interest the student.

  • Explain the relevance and applicability of the course material to engineers, designers, inspectors, contractors and other professionals.

  • Emphasize the skills and knowledge that the course offers to engineers, designers, inspectors, contractors and other professionals and list them accordingly.

  • To assist you in creating the “Course Outline”, click on Sample Course Outline for guidance.

Course Content

  • You can either write your own course or use technical resources available in the public domain on the internet. Either way the course content shall be a stand alone document.

  • If you use copyrighted information, you must obtain and state the written permission of the copyright holder. However, if you use technical resources already available in the public domain as part of your course material, then you must indicate the URL for the website containing the referenced material.

  • Select a course title that is short but one that clearly describes the content of the course. Avoid lengthy titles as they may disinterest the subscriber.

  • Start your course with a clear format or organizational structure. The course should be structured in a logical manner starting with an introduction, followed by the main body, and ending with a conclusion.  Your ideas should flow smoothly in a logical progression to allow the student to understand the subject matter.

  • Use examples when necessary to emphasize a point you are trying to get across to the student. If you need to include graphics, photographs or other images as part of your course, it is preferable if they can be embedded into your course document. Alternatively, you may send the images separately.

  • You should estimate the number of unit hours required for a student to review the course material and pass the quiz.

  • Ensure that the study time for the course you prepare does not exceed 12 unit hours. If possible, consider breaking longer courses into two or three courses to reduce the study time, provided that the smaller courses can be independent of each other.

Course Quiz and Answer Key

  • The course quiz should cover a broad range of topics included in the course content. Prepare and submit a course quiz with an answer key as follows:

  • The quiz questions may be of multiple-choice or a combination of multiple-choice and True/False type questions.

  • Multiple-choice type questions should have four answers (a, b, c or d) to choose from.

  • True/False type questions should not exceed 25% of the total number of questions presented.

  • A minimum of 5 quiz questions are required for every unit hour of study time. However, a minimum of 10 questions are required for a 1 or 2 unit hour course. Therefore, depending on the study time required, the minimum number of questions required is as follows:

1 to 2 Unit Hour Course 10 Questions
3 Unit Hour Course 15 Questions
4+ Unit Hour Course 20 Questions + 5 more for every Unit Hour

  • You may shuffle the order of the quiz questions to encourage students to search further through the subject matter which helps reinforce the material presented.

  • Include the answers to the questions either at the bottom of the quiz or by highlighting the correct answers within the quiz.

When you complete the preparation of your course, send your course material in the form of HTML, PDF or Word to info@cedengineering.com. We will review your submittals and advise you of any comments for your concurrence. Once the changes are made by either party, we will send you the final draft for your approval.

Producing a quality course for our students is the ultimate goal. Therefore, it is in both of our interests that we are contented with the final output before publishing the course online. Once approved by both parties, we will send you an Independent Consultant Agreement to review and sign. After we receive the signed agreement, we are ready to promote, advertise and publish the course on CEDengineering.com at no cost to you.

Once we publish your course online, your job is done for the most part. We only ask that you advise us of any relevant course updates. At that point we may ask you to incorporate these updates into the course content as necessary. We may also defer to you specific questions raised by the student if such questions require your technical expertise. We ask that you reply in an expeditious manner in the mutual interest of keeping our students satisfied.

Each time your course is purchased, you will earn 50% of the gross revenue generated by the purchase of that course.

You may track your earnings by clicking on my account, then downloading your revenue report. We will send you a check in the amount of your earnings on quarterly basis.
